Photography

The rapid development of industry has contributed to the advancement of society, but it is affecting humans’ normal life as well. For instance, people are bound to work and acting as part of a machine. One can feel the pure nature of a human being only when he/she is doing certain things to satisfy his/her primary physiological needs, such as eating, sleeping and giving birth.

For me, photographing a naked body is a process of recording a life’s experience. By photographing a naked, de-socialized human body, I capture sensitive points and moments to highlight the feeling and existence of a human being. Inspired by Bill Brandt, I have a deep impression of his bold composition of pictures and sharp contrast between black and white. A black-and-white picture gives more emphasis on the structure of a human body, and such a human body gives a reflection of modern society.
